Wines
Hailing from the rolling hills of Zululand, Ntsiki Biyela embarked on a life-changing journey to the Cape Winelands. It was here that she discovered her talent and passion for creating captivating wines. Out of her dream comes a brand that pays tribute to her great inspiration, her much-loved grandmother, Aslina.
The Aslina branding strongly echoes Ntsiki’s Zulu culture and heritage and the label features the calabash, a traditional clay drinking vessel. Although used typically for beer, Ntsiki has added her own unique twist by adding grapes to the calabash, transforming it into a container for her distinctive wines.
Cabernet Sauvignon
Our Cabernet Sauvignon expresses a natural offering which was supported in the winemaking process, that we should respect the gifts, richness and bold structure offered by nature. Love, strength and beliefs embodied within the crafting of the wine.
Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc reveals the wild unique deep story of our winemaking process to produce a life changing taste on your palate.
Chardonnay
Our Chardonnay expresses the diversity in the cultivar itself and how South Africa is. Our style of wine expresses the unity, strength and combining the components of passion, elegance and the vision with which it was crafted.
Umsasane
This is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Umsasane is the Zulu word for umbrella tree, which gives shelter, protection and comfort. It was Ntsiki’s grandmother’s nickname and the bold structure, smoothness and complexity of this wine honour the characteristics of Aslina, the matriarch of the family.
Chenin Blanc
A refreshing yet rich character wine with characters of honeybush tea. A touch of tannins, ripe ad soft, mellowing on the palate. Beautiful texture and depth.
Méthode Cap Classique
Pale golden in colour with a unique bouquet of green apples and cucumber hints on the nose. Butterscotch aromas, limey fresh fruit and rich creamy complexity on the palate. This wine pairs well with rich foods and can be enjoyed equally well on its own.
